Representing the PGFFL away from home.

In addition to local league play, the PGFFL competes nationally.  We send four teams to compete in tournaments across the US.   Tournaments include Sin City Classic, Pride Bowl, Gay Bowl and others.

The Arizona Arsenal

With a competitive edge and much to prove, the league’s first official travel team, formerly known as Hellraisers, our Arizona Arsenal started it all.  The foundation of our league and travel teams comes from the Arsenal team.  The team and players have represented Phoenix and the PGFFL in many tournaments over the years including 3 Gay Bowls held in Arizona.

The Arsenal thrives with skilled, talented, and seasoned players; some even being legacy Hellraisers.  Players on the Arsenal are looked to as mentors and have been able to help develop our newer travel teams, Phoenix Blast and Bad Hombres.

The Phoenix Blast

With the growth of our local league, there was the ability to add an additional travel team of Phoenix BLAST in 2016.  BLAST made their debut in Gay Bowl XVI which was held in Washington D.C.  Over the last 5 years, BLAST has shown up in Gay Bowl Boston, Denver, New York City, and Arizona along with being in Las Vegas Sin City Classic and Chicago Pride Bowl.

The strength, development, and growth of the team comes from their core fundamentals.

B: bend don’t break

L: learn continually

A: Attitude determines Altitude

S: Show spirit

T: Team before individual and Trust the team

The Bad Hombres

Established in 2018, the Bad Hombres made their debut, representing the PGFFL in Denver at GayBowl XVIII. Since then, the Bad Hombres have played in Las Vegas, New York City, and most recently in GayBowl Arizona, placing 6th in our division.

With the support of PGFFL, and in the spirit of inclusion and sportsmanship, the team name, “Bad Hombres” was chosen as a reminder to all players, our league, and community that all are welcome.

Since their debut in Denver, the Bad Hombres team has grown, inviting new players and seasoned veterans of all skills to join a competitive and supportive team. Focusing on foundational skills, core defensive and offensive strategies, and a spirit of sportsmanship, the Bad Hombres offer players of all skills the chance to compete and play football.

The Phoenix Fahrenheit

In 2018, our first women’s team took the field in Gay Bowl Denver, adding an additional women’s group to the 12 teams that compete through National Gay Flag Football League (NGFFL).  Our Fahrenheit continue to recruit and reach out to not only to the LGBTQ+ community but to the Allied community as well; showing that everyone is welcome to play flag football.

Our women’s team has helped with the success of our local league, growing the number of female representation in our seasons.  In 2021 Fahrenheit played in Gay Bowl Arizona along with 15 other women’s team to take 3rd place in the women’s B division.
